REF FM Foundation
The foundation helps organisations in refugee camps to start radio stations for/by refugees and host communities and to make these stations self-sustainable within one year. Radio can inspire refugees and encourage them to become more active and more adaptive to their circumstances.
Africa Afya Initiative (AAI)
AAI is a Tanzanian Ngo assisting disadvantaged communities in the fight against a wide range of diseases. It is supported by The Canada Africa Community Health Alliance (CACHA) in Canada. AAI has initiated REF FM UKEREWE to elevate people with albinism.
Tanzania Albinism Society (TAS)
TAS is a Tanzanian Ngo empowering, protecting, and supporting people with albinism. It is a membership organisation established in 1978 by people with albinism, with 12,000 registered members geared toward serving over 12,000 people with albinism and their families across Tanzania.
Nansio Hospital
Nansio Hospital is a government owned facility serving the people living on Ukerewe Island. It is working closely together with the Albino Society of Ukerewe on the prevention and treatment of skin cancer and the detection and treatment of eye and vision problems - for people with albinism.
Ukerewe District Council
is the local Government Authority governing the island or the District of Ukerewe. The Authority and the hospital are supporting REF FM UKEREWE by providing the Studio location.
